Is Firefox OK?

I'm really concerned about Firefox' future. I've been using since… forever. I was using Netscape before. I switched to Phoenix the day they released it, saw rebrandings to Firebird and then Firefox.

“This market needs variety,” Willemsen says. If Firefox diminishes further, there’ll be less competition for Chrome. “We need that difference for open internet standards, for the sake of preventing monopolies,” Willemsen says. Others agree. Everyone we spoke with for this story—inside and outside of Mozilla—says having Firefox flourish makes the web a better place. The trick is figuring out how to get there.

   Ok, so Mozilla won't help JPEG XL…

   What's the name of the video player you can open outside #Firefox UI to keep it visible while going to other tabs?

   I can't find anything about it in Bugzilla.

   I would welcome additional controls, or at least an interactive timeline.
