A quick look at privacy-focused analytics for small sites

A nice overview of some options if you're looking for an analytics solution that is more privacy-oriented than Google's one (which still runs on this site, I'm still looking for an alternative) and not too expensive.

Interesting thoughts about DNT. It came a long time before we introduced privacy-focused analytics to the world. My personal take is that, if you're not tracking an individual (and can't put together a history on them), you shouldn't worry about it.

I tend to agree. I think @urcoilbisurco chose not to collect data if DNT:1, which is valid as well. My favorite option would be to send pageview pings only, with even less information or just a dnt=1 parameter to get a count of "untracked views".
